Data Grid Master Tutorial with WaveMaker

Overview
The data grid or grid is a complex widget that can be customized in many ways. Many customizations currently require some amount of coding.
This presentation includes six grid examples covering:
- Basic CRUD (create, read, update delete) and display expressions.
- Master Detail use case
- Summary column
- Summary Row
- Form Interaction
- Editable Grid
Notes for using the presentation project.
Both the presentation and the examples are in the form of a WaveMaker project.Database Dependency
To view and fully run the examples in this project you need to have the Sakila or SakilaLight database available.If you do not modify the db connections properties you will get an error Error: Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) When trying to view the example projects. If you already have the sakila databaseyou can use it. Simply update the database connections in the project to connect to your sakila db.
If you do not have sakila, you can get it from mysql via theforum link or used the provide sakilalight.sql file to restore the sakilalight database into a mysql server.
In the Admin menu, Database Connections, update the properties for 'sakilalight' to point to your sakila or sakilalight db.
Viewing the project
The presentation is viewed by running the application.When viewing the project in studio (design mode), you may need to toggle outline and exploded view to adjust the layout presentation.
Both Views should be off for best viewing in studio.
Full Screen Mode - F11
When viewing the presentation on lower resolution systems (laptop screens for example), you may need to toggle full screen mode in the browser for best viewing.In FireFox, this can be toggled with the F11 key.
Navigating.
Once running the presentation, use the buttons in right lower corner to navigate presentation In each example is a 'back to presentation' button to return to the presentation.
