Tutorial 1: Create A Web Application

The Introductory Tutorial guides you through the process of creating web application, called a project in WaveMaker. In this tutorial you will gain an overall understanding of the Page Designer (the main screen of Studio).

Tutorial 2: Working With Data

The Create Application Tutorial guides you through importing a data model and displaying data using DataGrid and LiveForm widgets.

Tutorial 3: Working With Live Forms

The Add Customer Tab Tutorial guides you through adding Tab Layers to organize your project, viewing detailed data in a LiveForm widget and using the onSelected event from the DataGrid widget to navigate to the LiveForm widget and display detailed data for the selected DataGrid row.

Tutorial 4: Working With Related Data

The Add An Orders Tab Tutorial guides you through working with related data. It shows you how to display related orders for the currently selected customer.

Tutorial 5: Working With Web Services

The Add A Web Services Call Tutorial guides you through working with web services calls. It shows you how to call a web service to validate the zip code information entered for a customer.

WaveMaker 5.2 Tutorials

The tutorials are for the earlier WaveMaker 5.2 release. User of earlier version of WaveMaker may see slightly different interfaces although functionally comparable.

Tutorial 1: WaveMaker Introduction

The Introductory Tutorial guides you through the process of creating web application. In this tutorial you will gain an overall understanding of the Page Designer (the main screen of Studio), import a data model, build a simple web user interface, and run the application.

Tutorial 2: Inspect the Introductory Application

Tutorial 2 examines the widgets, services, and variables created in the Introductory Tutorial. You will learn the event model and the interactions between the application components of WaveMaker.

Duration: 10 minutes

Tutorial 3: Extend the Introductory Application

Tutorial 3 customizes the application created in the Introductory Tutorial. You will learn how to filter results by adding Search to the application and to display related data in the details of a LiveForm.

Tutorial 4: Web Services

Tutorial 4 shows how to incorporate web services into the application. The application will call a zipcode lookup web service to retrieve the city and state for the entered zip code. This tutorial will utilize information about the event model described in Tutorial 2.

Tutorial 5: Java Services

Tutorial 5 adds a Java service to the application. The Java service will perform a complex calculation and display the result to the web application.
