I am pleased to announce that WaveMaker 5.2 is now available. Go to the download page to get the latest version.
The release includes a number of new features including Studio tooled Dojo Menus, Charts, and Grids. These are new additions to the standard palette of widgets. As always, we are looking for feedback. Let us know whether like the Studio interface for these widgets. We are anxious for your feedback.
WaveMaker 5.2 has been updated to use the latest version of Dojo, 1.3.2. We plan to continue to provide the latest capabilities available from Dojo.
The release also include a new Resources page. Upload, import, export, and organize your project resources, including css, html, images, and javascript. Resource uploaded in the Resource manager are available in the binding dialog. No more having to remember the name of the image file you uploaded last week.
The Resource Manager is helpful for the desktop version of WaveMaker Studio. It’s necessary in the Cloud version of WaveMaker. Look for a new version of WaveMaker Cloud in the near future.
“What else” you ask. How about an automated deployment to Amazon EC2? Applications built in WaveMaker Studio can be “one-click” deployed to EC2. All you need is an Amazon AWS account. You can use RightScale to configure, manage, and scale your Amazon deployments. Our new deployment manager includes the option to upload your application to Amazon/RightScale where RightScale can manage a full cloud solution.
See the wiki for a complete list of new features added in WaveMaker 5.2. You can also look are our issue tracking system to see the list of bugs, improvements, and new features.
